State of Workplace Empathy Report
Unempathetic organizations stand to lose billions by not investing into people
Our 10th annual State of Workplace Empathy report came out on June 18, and it’s full of key insights for HR teams looking to level up culture, cost management, and employee engagement. HR plays a vital role in cultivating empathy at work, but nearly 60% of CEOs still see empathy as a perk, not a necessity.
This year’s data is clear. When empathy isn’t present in the workplace, it can cost employers billions in lost productivity and talent:
- Employees at unempathetic organizations are 1.5X more likely to quit.
- 74% of remote/hybrid employees say they’ll quit if forced to go back in-office full time.
- Unempathetic workplaces report 3X higher levels of toxicity.

The One Thing: Confirm your Annual Enrollment Dates for Fall
Help us make this your best annual enrollment yet by providing your enrollment dates
If you have a 1/1 effective date, please work with your client teams this week to share your annual enrollment dates. This helps us prepare, staff appropriately, and provide you with the best-ever AE experience. We are asking clients to provide their tentative dates by July 7 and confirm them by July 31. If you’re able to provide confirmed dates out of the gate, even better!
Fun fact: Did you know you can open or close on a Tuesday? We know you know that, but we always suggest avoiding enrollment windows that start or end on a Monday or Friday, if possible. Additionally, you'll thank us in the end if you avoid the first two weeks of November, too.
Be sure to catch our series of AE Trainings in August to help you prepare.
