Spring brings Nondiscrimination Testing (NDT) season (again)

 

Each year, employers find themselves working at the end of the year to complete their nondiscrimination testing and respond to the results. Because it’s not uncommon for plans to struggle to pass Dependent Care FSA tests, employers sometimes must take steps to correct a plan failure. If these tests aren’t completed until later in the year, the “fix” required can be frustrating for plan participants, sometimes resulting in additional taxes that impact their paychecks. By testing in the spring, employers can test their plans and generally have time to respond to failures without the same impact. Make sure to let your clients know so they are prepared.

U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services (HHS) provides responds to the UHG/Change Healthcare Cyberattack 

 

Following the cyberattack on Change Healthcare which proved to be very disruptive to the U.S. healthcare system, HHS provided various communications to health plans and carriers. These notices include actions the HHS encourages health plans to take to help mitigate impacts.
