How to Read Your Employees’ Minds
Quarterly SofiaSM reports start going out this week
Have you checked out your quarterly Sofia report lately? In it, you can review stats for the types of questions your employees are asking. So, if you see “spending accounts” trending, perhaps you should send out some resources for those in your next benefits communication. Across all clients, the #1 search plan and program type are HSAs, followed by dental, medical, and FSA.
Over the past year, Sofia effectively resolved 89.5% of her chats, meaning employees are getting a lot of the answers they need in the system. Remember to update your reference center so Sofia can help search for specific answers.

Benefits Insights Dashboard
Three dashboards go live next week
The Benefits Insights Dashboard will go live the week of Oct. 14. Initially, three dashboards will be available based on your confirmed services. The Enrollment Survey, Benefits Literacy Survey, and Benefits Preference Survey dashboards will be available to clients who enabled the surveys of the same name. All three surveys will offer near real-time analytics and reporting and make recommendations to help enhance your benefits strategy’s alignment with your organizational goals.
You will see the Benefits Insights Dashboard on your admin home screen in the Dashboard widget.
And this is just the beginning! After annual enrollment season, we will be rolling out even more dashboards! To get us all ready, we’re hosting two trainings next month, shown below, each one devoted to an individual dashboard.

Tues., Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. CT: Survey Findings
This training is for you if you deployed the enrollment, benefits literacy, or benefits preference survey. Our experts will walk you through how to view the results of your surveys and understand how they can impact your benefits strategies.
Wed., Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. CT: Service Center Performance & Trends
If you leverage Businessolver for member services, this training is a can’t-miss. Our experts will take you through the Service Center Performance & Trends dashboard, which will provide you unparalleled access to the interactions taking place through our member services when it releases in January of 2025.
We’d love to have you join our experts as they walk us through the ins and outs of each dashboard. If you haven’t registered for Tech with Heart yet, this is a great reason to do so.

What’s New in Compliance?

Optional Relief for Hurricane Helene
While the IRS has hurried to identify tax filing extensions and relief for businesses and people in the states impacted by Hurricane Helene, the DOL has not issued any requirements mandating employers to provide health plan relief for those impacted. Nevertheless, employers with populations that are impacted by the hurricane and wish to extend COBRA enrollment or payment deadlines are encouraged to contact their client service leads to arrange for these extensions. Our thoughts are with those impacted by the recent hurricane.

Updated 1094-C/1095-C and 1094-B/1095-B instructions published
The IRS has published updated instructions for IRS Form 1094-C and IRS Form 1095-C. They have also published instructions for 1094-B and 1095-B.
Employers should review to ensure they understand the 1095 requirements before the first quarter form distribution and reporting.
