December Compliance Webinar with Bruce Gillis
Can You Future Proof Your Benefits Compliance Strategy?
Nine in 10 HR teams say they just need to know what to do to get through the immediate asks so they can mitigate risk, stay in compliance, and establish scalable policies for their organizations. Many questions stand in the way of making that happen. What does the 2025 compliance landscape have in store for us? How will this new administration impact compliance? And how can you best stay on top of all these moving pieces? We can help you answer these questions.
Allison Wallace, Chief Legal Officer at Businessolver; Bruce Gillis, Head of Compliance at Businessolver; Ben Conley, Partner at Seyfarth Shaw; and Brooke Salazar, Senior Compliance Director at ComplianceDashboard are breaking down what you can expect in the compliance landscape in 2025.
We’re hosting this session live on December 3, at 1 pm. CT. The live session is approved by HRCI and SHRM for one credit hour. We’ll also host a replay in Tech with Heart on December 17, at 10 a.m. CT. Bruce Gillis will be on call to answer questions during the replay.

It’s go time for fall enrollments

Now you get to review and use the data, too. Be sure to check out your Benefits Insights Dashboard if you have the enrollment surveys enabled. If you need more details on how these work or what data is available, check out our recent training in the Tech with Heart series. So far, with more than 525,000 responses, 86% of members are rating their enrollment experience as “good” or “excellent.”

What's New in Compliance?

IRS reminds employees of FSA benefits, enrollment requirements
On November 7, 2024, the IRS released IR-2024-287, which serves to remind employees of the various benefits, carryover capabilities, and annual enrollment requirements associated with Flexible Spending Accounts. For 2025, the plan year contribution limit will be $3,300.

End of year brings seasonal reporting requirements
With the end of 2024 approaching, we are reminding employers to review their end-of-year and Q1 requirements. These include:
- Gag Clause Attestations: Due by December 31, 2024. Check out the annual submission instructions for more information.
- The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitations (NQTL): This guidance will impact 2025 and 2026 plan requirements. Review the final rule to ensure you are compliant.
- Non-Discrimination Testing: Your dependent Care FSA testing is likely complete, but in case it is not, ensure any outstanding 2024 action items are completed.
- Reproductive healthcare/attestation processes: Health plans should review the new regulations released earlier this year to confirm they are prepared to meet the new HIPAA requirements related to reproductive care.
- ACA 1095-C reporting: As annual enrollment winds down, employers turn their attention to 1095-C reporting. Employers should ensure their data is complete and ready for 1095-C form production and reporting. Download the 2024 1095-C form and review the 1095-C instructions.
