We are wishing the Happiest of Holidays to all our client administrators. We hope you can rest, relax, and enjoy friends, family, and food over the next few weeks. Here’s a reminder that our member services team is offline on Dec. 24, after 2 p.m. CT; Dec. 31, at 7 p.m. CT; and all day on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. 

Additionally, we’ll see you for our next edition of the Wire on January 7.

MyChoice® Find a Provider Enhancements

Finding care gets easier 

MyChoice Find a Provider, Benefitsolver’s®️ embedded provider guidance tool that helps members find and book in-network care, has received a great upgrade! Now, members can find and book care at CVS MinuteClinics across the U.S., providing care for more than 195 unique services. This is an addition to the digital booking service rolled out in the summer. Finally, members can look up prescription discounts for more than 6,000 options. MyChoice Find a Provider offers all these great features, plus the ability to add preferred point solutions that your company may offer in tandem with your health plan, such as EAP, musculoskeletal providers, physical therapy, and more.

Deadline for Gag Clause Affidavit approaches

Employers should be aware of the December 31, 2024, deadline for filing their annual Gag Clause Prohibition Compliance Attestation. This attestation affirms that the group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group health insurance coverage have not entered into a prohibited agreement with a health care provider, network or association of providers, third-party administrator (TPA), or other service provider that would impermissibly restrict consumer access to cost or quality of care data or otherwise impermissibly limiting access by consumers to certain data types. This is an annual filing, due on December 31.

IRS publishes 2025 Publication 15-B draft, Employer's Tax Guide to Fringe Benefits

The IRS published the draft version of next year’s Publication 15-B, Employer's Tax Guide to Fringe Benefits, which outlines information on various fringe benefits, including commuter benefits, adoption assistance, educational assistance, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and more.

2025 PCORI fees announced 

The IRS announced the 2025 PCORI fees. The adjusted applicable dollar amount for determining the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (PCORTF) fee for policy years and plan years ending on or after October 1, 2024, and before October 1, 2025, is $3.47. This is a $0.25 increase from the prior year.
