Take the Tech with Heart Mid-Year Participant Survey
We want your feedback
Have you joined us in our Tech with Heart client series this year? Whether you have or have not, we’re interested in hearing from you. Please take a few minutes to complete our mid-year survey. We want to know your thoughts on the schedule and timing of our sessions, what types of sessions and content you value most, and more. If you haven’t yet participated, we’d love to know what’s made it difficult for you to attend, and how you’d prefer to receive updates and information.
To take the survey, you must register for Tech with Heart. If you haven’t registered this year and want to provide feedback, please register before trying to take the survey.
Your feedback is invaluable and will help us fit our Tech with Heart experience to your wants and needs.
Enrollment and portal upgrades
Our member enrollment experience is getting some exciting enhancements before annual enrollment. We highlighted these at last week’s Q3 Product & Compliance Update in more detail, but we wanted to provide the key takeaways here.
- Built a more welcoming home page with a microsite menu that stays affixed to the top of the page so it’s always available to members throughout the enrollment experience.
- Improved the content within the enrollment experience so that members will have better benefits explanations.
- Empowered SofiaSM to recognize which page a member is on during the enrollment and provides relevant guidance for all enrolled plans.
- Moved the main enrollment navigation from the top of the screen to the left side of the screen so that members can compare past and current elections throughout the enrollment process.
- Brought more polish to the experience by meeting the latest design and aesthetic expectations.
- Reorganized key details like vendor, plan name, and employee cost info and updated the style and visuals throughout the enrollment.
- And more!
MyChoice® Mobile App upgrades
Beyond the enrollment experience, we're also upgrading the MyChoice Mobile App. These updates will provide a cleaner, more modern user experience and provide them with a better experience when talking with Sofia.
- Addressed feedback and improved the user experience so that the mobile app now supports basic landscape view on tablets.
- Enhanced the MyChoice Mobile App to show your branding once a member has authenticated and logged in. Members will see their company’s logo and the coloring within the app will pull from the client color palette loaded in Benefitsolver® .
- Upgraded Sofia to offer conversation starters when members chat in the mobile app. When a member launches a new chat, she greets them with “What can I help you with today?” and several prompts, including: tasks, company announcements, promotions, and common chat topics.
Check out last week’s product update to see what these upgrades look like and hear more about why we made them. We’re excited to deploy these before annual enrollment and look forward to seeing how they improve your members’ experience.
No Cost, No Brainer: Enhance Your Benefits Strategy with Pet & Disaster Insurance
Two difference-making voluntary benefits
Let’s face it— a truly impactful benefits strategy goes beyond traditional offerings. Our latest Empathy and Benefits Insights Reports showed Gen Z employees highly value “delighter” benefits, like financial wellness tools, family benefits, and pet insurance. Gen Z wants benefits that support their whole lives, not just health coverage.
But the challenge remains: What voluntary benefits are the most meaningful in a total rewards package? And which ones are easy to add…at no cost to you?
Enter Pets Best and Recoop Disaster Insurance. These Businessolver® Pinnacle Partners are fully integrated into the Benefitsolver platform, 100% employee-paid, more affordable than standalone options, and the best part—require no cost or tech lift from you.
With 2/3 of U.S. households owning pets, offering pet insurance like Pets Best shows you care—without a hefty price tag. And, with rising extreme weather events, offering a benefit like Recoop Disaster Insurance can make all the difference for your employees.
Watch these videos to get a better understanding of Pets Best and Recoop Disaster Insurance. If you're interested in adding either benefit, please reach out to your client services lead.

What’s New in Compliance?

One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) Employee Benefits Impacts
The new OBBBA may affect how employers administer certain benefit programs. Updates include adjustments to Dependent Care FSA limits, expanded HSA eligibility, and new provisions for telehealth and primary care coverage. A summary of key changes is below. A few notable items for employers are below:
- Increasing the Dependent Care FSA contribution limit to $7,500, up from $5,000 (or $3,750, up from $2,500, for married employees filing separately). Keep in mind that many employers set lower than the maximum contribution limits for their highly compensated employees to allow the plan to pass nondiscrimination testing—such that this increase may not have a large impact on dependent care programs.
- Change to permanently allow telehealth and remote care services relief for HSA-compatible High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs) —allowing these plans to cover telehealth and remote care prior to the deductible being met. (effective retro to 1/1/2025).
- Change to allow Primary Care Services arrangements to be covered by HSAs funds, up to $150/month for a single person or $300/month for families.
- Change to allow bronze and catastrophic plan participants (obtaining coverage via the exchange) to contribute to HSAs.
- Enhancements to the Paid Family Medical Leave tax credits.
- And more.
