Broadening the Benefits Ecosystem
Even more enhancements to expand our ecosystem.
Product updates and expansion of our Pinnacle Partners allows us to bring a broader benefits program to your employees.
Enhancing the Provider Lookup tool means fewer surprises and better cost effectiveness for members and employers.
In addition to key product innovations, Businessolver expanded its partner ecosystem with key additions to its Pinnacle Partner program. Those partners added in 2022 include: ARAG Legal Insurance, Norton LifeLock, Accolade, Aetna, MetLife Legal, MetLife Pet, SWORD Health and Benefex.

Sofia turned 5!
We had AI before it was #trending.
5 years is an important milestone, and Sofia’s living up to her name: “wisdom” in Greek. Over this time she’s learned answers to more questions, new languages, and new helpful suggestions based on true intent, or the “question behind the question.”
Carrying out our ‘Mobile-First’ mission.
The MyChoice Mobile App continues to be an invaluable component of our suite of products. Some of the improvements we made in 2022 are:
• Optimized the login process, adding a QR code so members can login to the app more easily; same secure authentication and privacy, less steps.
• Increased efficiency: documents can now be viewed in HTML, allowing the app to perform faster and save mobile storage.
• Promoted the app to drive enrollment, 13% of members chose to enroll in benefits via the Mobile app during open enrollment in 2022.

Our fully integrated Consumer-Directed Health Care Accounts experience is designed to create a simplified and streamlined experience.
• Launched New Member User Interface for easier understanding of account details.
• Simplified Member Processes with a new account statement generation process.
• Created clarity in claims by communicating transaction detail in emails, implementing improved UI, and added a new recurring claim functionality.
• Developed processes with automated billing: MCA to accounts payable.
• Expanded lifestyle accounts like medical travel reimbursement and fitness reimbursement.
• Added a claim status tracker so employees can check reimbursements and payments.
Dependent Verification
One of the most valuable tools in our shed, optimizing the DV process.
With automation, and dedicated resources, we’re ensuring that dependents are verified swiftly and accurately.
In 2022 we:
• Clarified dependent verification document requirements to reduce hassle and confusion.
• Ensured Sofia had continued access to the most up to date verification information, including the reason a document needs to be resubmitted for approval.
• Optimized our instant verification technology, which assisted in the automatic close of 53% of all dependent verification transactions during this annual enrollment.

Businessolver was honored for the exemplary technical development and machine learning technology demonstrated by our personal benefits assistant SofiaSM!
The Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards are judged by business executives, who had this to say: “We are so proud to name Businessolver as a winner in our inaugural Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards program,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer for Business Intelligence Group.

Another Year, Another Successful Hackathon
The goal for this year was to achieve our Cloud initiatives - offering faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.
We held our FIFTH Hackathon in 2022, which is an opportunity for our product and technology teams to think outside the box and bring new ideas and innovation to our platform. Hackathons are a common event in the software development world and generally provide a few days for teams to develop ideas for solving problems or creating opportunity.
This years Hackathon included the following projects that are already live in production!
• Sofia gained a short term memory which allows her to recall a previous comment within the chat and leverage that context toward the next question asked.
• Simplified the process for testing email communications within Action Manager, the Benefitsolver communication framework, to just one click!
