API Terms – Businessolver LiveKinnect

Businessolver LiveKinnect as an API suite is a collaborative and central site to make materials and resources available to Businessolver.com, Inc. (“BSC”) Customers and Partners (“Users”) which allows permitted Users to integrate and configure BSC’s RESTful APIs, seek support from BSC and stay connected.

Please be advised that BSC is merely making Businessolver LiveKinnect, and any information contained therein, available as a courtesy to our Users; that the information made available in Businessolver LiveKinnect has not been reviewed, verified or in any manner accepted or approved and is being provided “as is” by BSC; that BSC makes no warranty whatsoever, either express, implied, or statutory, with respect to Businessolver LiveKinnect or any information contained therein; and that BSC has no responsibility or liability for same or for the accuracy, validity or legality of any information contained in Businessolver LiveKinnect. Users acknowledge that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any agreement between User and BSC, (i) Businessolver LiveKinnect and any associated integrations built by Users are outside of the BSC secure environment or systems (“BSC Systems”); (ii) BSC has no liability for any unauthorized use or disclosure of such confidential information or customer data in Businessolver LiveKinnect, and (iii) BSC is not liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or any other damages of any nature whatsoever that may arise as a result of or in connection with the use of Businessolver LiveKinnect or any associated integrations and/or any information contained in Businessolver LiveKinnect or any associated integrations. BSC owns all right, title, and interest in and to any integrations or portion of integrations built or developed by BSC and exposed to, published in, or documented in Businessolver LiveKinnect and provides Users with a non-exclusive, revocable license to use same.

Notwithstanding that any integration to or with a third party created, used, or built as a result of or within Businessolver LiveKinnect may include access to or from, or the flow of data to or from, BSC Systems, BSC takes no responsibility or liability for same.

BSC may suspend and/or terminate any User’s use of or access to Businessolver LiveKinnect in its sole and absolute discretion.

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the relationship between BSC and User is governed solely by that certain Master Services Agreement (“Contract”) entered into by and between BSC and User and nothing herein changes, amends, or in any way alters the terms of the Contract relating to Users’ access or utilization of the BSC Systems.

What is the LiveKinnect Developer Portal?

The LiveKinnect Developer Portal is a centralized location allowing clients, partners and vendors to integrate with Businessolver’s benefits platform, Benefitsolver. This Developer Portal will continue to be updated with additional endpoints over time. Please continue to check back as grow our integration capabilities.

 

Do I need to register?

No, this site is built for any vendor, client or partner to access and review. Any secure items required for using our LiveKinnect API will be handled through Benefitsolver or your Businessolver contacts.

 

What integrations can I build?

The only integration available to date is related to pulling employee data from the Benefitsolver system. We will bring additional endpoints to our LiveKinnect developer portal over time.

API – Stands for Application Programming Interface and is a set of programming code that enables data transmission between software product to another. It is a defined set of rules.

Authorize – Validation is important. Through our authentication token, we can determine that you are who you say you are prior to providing access to the required data.

Endpoint – An endpoint is imply one side of the communication channel for delivering and receiving data through an API.

GET – The most commonly used method within an API, it allows the developer to retrieve data from a specific source.

Parameters – API parameters are the variable parts of a resource. It allows you to understand what values will be received or delivered.

POST – Opposite of GET, this is the HTTP method for sending a lod of data to a server from a specified resource.

REST – A RESTful API is a type of API that uses HTTP requests to access and use data. It sits in a “restful” state until interacted with.

Schema – A schema helps developers identify the type of information they should expect to receive through the API operation.

Swagger – Swagger is an open source framework backed by a large ecosystem of tools to design, build, document, and consume RESTful APIs, such as the Businessolver API.
